Job Summary
Maple Ave Home Hardware is seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team. This role involves engaging with customers both inside and outside the store, providing expert advice on renovation and construction projects, and promoting all products. Duties
- Assist customers with their renovation, construction, and home improvement needs through personalized service.
- Conduct inside sales by managing customer inquiries, processing transactions via POS systems, and handling cash or card payments accurately.
- Engage in outside sales efforts by visiting potential clients or contractors to promote products and services.
- Demonstrate products through live demos and provide detailed explanations of features, benefits, and installation processes.
- Upsell complementary products and services to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Manage product displays, merchandising, and inventory levels to maintain an attractive shopping environment.
- Handle account management tasks including order processing, follow-up, and maintaining customer relationships.
- Collaborate with team members on marketing initiatives to increase store visibility and sales performance.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries promptly, resolving issues efficiently, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail sales, inside or outside sales, preferably within hardware, renovation, or construction industries.
- Strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic math for transactions.
- Knowledge of merchandising principles and organizational skills to maintain attractive displays.
- Ability to negotiate effectively with customers and upsell products tactfully.
- Understanding of renovation projects, plumbing, electrical, construction materials, or home improvement products is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude and the ability to build rapport quickly.
