Our company is focused on growth and investing in individuals who are detail-oriented and results driven. Maxan is currently seeking experienced Tapers to join our team in the London Ontario area. This is a full-time position within a fast-paced construction environment, supporting commercial, institutional, and industrial projects.
What You'll Do:
- Apply tape, compound, and finishing materials to drywall joints, corners, and fasteners
- Prepare surfaces for painting and final finishes by sanding and smoothing drywall compound
- Repair imperfections and ensure high-quality finishes that meet project specifications
- Read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications
- Maintain Maxan quality standards throughout all phases of finishing work
- Work safely using ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms as required
- Ensure personal and site safety is maintained at all times
- Keep work areas clean and organized
- Communicate effectively with General Superintendents, Foremen, and crew members
- Other duties as assigned
What You Bring:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Taper / Drywall Finisher in ICI construction
- Strong knowledge of drywall finishing techniques, materials, and industry best practices
- Experience with hand and power tools used in drywall finishing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
- Valid Working at Heights certification
- Valid Elevated Work Platform training certificate
- Valid Powder Actuated Tools training certificate
- WHMIS and Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps
- Reliable transportation to various job sites in the London area

Pay rate is based on union classification and the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
