Job Overview
Piper Arms Pub Whitby is looking for an experienced, energetic, and customer-focused Bartender to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences while preparing high-quality beverages.
As a Bartender, you will be responsible for crafting alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, providing outstanding customer service, maintaining a clean and organized bar, and working closely with the front and back of house teams to ensure smooth service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following standard recipes.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere for every guest.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, glassware, and equipment.
- Process food and beverage orders accurately using the POS system (Micros POS experience is an asset).
- Ensure compliance with Smart Serve, food safety, and responsible alcohol service standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking bar supplies.
- Work closely with servers and kitchen staff to maintain efficient service.
- Handle cash, debit, and credit card transactions accurately.
- Complete opening, closing, and side duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of bartending experience in a high-volume restaurant, pub, or bar.
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and responsible alcohol service.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized during busy service periods.
- Experience using POS systems (Micros POS is an asset).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Smart Serve Certification is required (or must be obtained before starting).
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and late-night shifts.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
