Ambient Home Care is seeking dedicated Human Service Counsellors to support safe, structured court‑ordered supervised visits between children and their families. This role is ideal for individuals committed to child welfare, family support, and trauma‑informed care.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor parent–child visits in accordance with court orders, safety plans, and agency guidelines
- Maintain a safe, child‑focused environment during all supervised visits
- Provide emotional and behavioural support to children before, during, and after visits
- Document accurate, objective visit reports for social workers and legal partners
- Communicate with caregivers, caseworkers, and community professionals
- Use de‑escalation, conflict‑resolution, and trauma‑informed strategies to manage safety concerns
- Uphold confidentiality, professional boundaries, and ethical standards
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Human Services, Social Work, Child & Youth Care, Psychology, or related field
- Experience working with children, families, or vulnerable populations
- Strong skills in documentation, observation, communication, and crisis intervention
- Knowledge of child development, family dynamics, and trauma‑informed practice
- Ability to remain calm, neutral, and professional in high‑emotion situations
Requirements
- Clear Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Check
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
- Ability to work evenings or weekends as needed
- Legally entitled to work in Canada (sponsorship is not available for this position)
- Bilingual fluency in English and French is required
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
