Job Description
Goodrich Transport Ltd. is seeking experienced Forklift Operators to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely loading and unloading lumber trucks, handling lumber products, and ensuring efficient yard operations.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload lumber trucks safely and efficiently.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment in accordance with safety regulations.
- Secure and stack lumber products properly to prevent damage.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance issues.
- Assist with yard organization and inventory management.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Work closely with drivers, dispatchers, and yard personnel to maintain smooth operations.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of forklift operating experience.
- Experience loading and unloading lumber trucks is mandatory.
- Valid forklift certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of safe load handling and securement practices.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling dimensional lumber, plywood, and building materials.
- Knowledge of warehouse and yard operations.
- Experience with oversized or specialty loads is an asset.
