What You'll Do
Customer Service & Sales Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries via phone, email, text, and in person.
- Provide product information, pricing, and recommendations to customers.
- Prepare and follow up on customer quotes.
- Support the outside sales team by assisting with customer accounts and order management.
- Build strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business.
- Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services.
- Follow up with customers regarding order status, delivery updates, and overall satisfaction.
Order Processing & Inventory Management
- Enter and process sales orders accurately and efficiently.
- Communicate product availability issues, backorders, and delivery delays to customers.
- Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Monitor inventory levels of tools and branch supplies and proactively report restocking needs.
- Assist with inventory control and stock organization.
Branch Operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional customer-facing environment.
- Process point-of-sale transactions and handle front counter sales.
- Open and close cash drawers and complete daily cash balancing.
- Prepare and complete daily bank deposits.
- Ensure product displays, shelving, and promotional materials are properly maintained.
Problem Resolution
- Address customer concerns, complaints, and service issues professionally and efficiently.
- Collaborate with logistics, purchasing, accounting, and other departments to resolve order discrepancies.
- Support general administrative and operational duties as required.
Contribute to Business Growth
- Support the achievement of monthly branch sales targets.
- Participate in promotions and customer outreach initiatives.
- Share customer feedback and market insights to improve products, services, and customer experience.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 2 years of customer service, inside sales, order desk, or sales support experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable using computers, Microsoft Office, and order-entry systems.
- Professional, positive, and customer-focused attitude.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred
- Experience in retail, distribution, construction supply, industrial supply, or related industries.
- Experience with inventory management or point-of-sale systems.
- Previous experience handling cash transactions and balancing cash drawers.
- Knowledge of building materials, tools, roofing products, or construction-related products is considered an asset.
