Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Skid Steer Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating skid steer and possess a strong understanding of construction and grading in residential areas, site safety and efficiency. This role involves working with various machinery to support excavation, grading, back filling, manual labour and other construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time and to high standards.
Duties
- Operate skid steer safely and efficiently across multiple construction sites in residential areas.
- Perform manual labour operations for tight areas. handling, loading, and unloading tasks
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any mechanical issues
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment problems
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project are completed on time and sites are kept clean.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating skid steers.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy construction equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Valid class 5 license.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures in heavy equipment operation
- Must have a great work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds when necessary
- Prior experience with heavy equipment brands such as Caterpillar is advantageous
- Reliable transportation to job sites and flexibility to work extended hours as needed
Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
