Summary
As a Cannabis Budtender at Tower Cannabis Inc., you will be the face of our dispensary, providing exceptional customer service and expert guidance on our range of cannabis products. You will play a key role in fostering a welcoming atmosphere that encourages customer engagement and satisfaction. This budtender job will have shifts at two of our stores, but they are a close drive apart in the communities of Country Hills and Carrington in NW Calgary.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers in selecting cannabis products based on their needs and preferences.
- Provide detailed information about product strains, effects, and usage methods.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently while maintaining compliance with regulations.
- Maintain an organized and clean dispensary environment to enhance the customer experience.
- Engage with customers to build rapport and encourage repeat business.
- Stay informed about industry trends and product knowledge to better serve customers.
Requirements
- Previous experience in cannabis retail sales
- Valid SellSafe Cannabis Staff Training through AGLC
- Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle
- Strong cash handling skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers to understand service requirements.
Check customers' valid, primary identification to verify they are of legal age.
Guide and direct customers on suitable cannabis products based on their needs, preferences, budgets, and reactions to different strains of cannabis.
Answer customer questions and concerns; ensure that they are well-informed and leave the store satisfied with their purchases and customer service experience.
Educate customers on the safe use of their selected cannabis products.
Process customers' payments using the dispensary's Point of Sale (POS) system.
Communicate any information regarding difficult customers or situations to the Store Manager.
INVENTORY
Communicate customer product requests to the Store Manager.
Maintain a regular inventory of products and ensure that the sales floor is adequately stocked.
Participate in completing regular inventory reviews.
REGULATORY AND HOUSE POLICY
Cooperate with inspectors from AGLC and know what to expect during an inspection.
Maintain the reputation of the store by complying with all legal and regulatory requirements and interacting with all customers and regulatory bodies with professionalism.
Comply with Health, Fire and Occupational Health and Safety legislation
Be familiar with House Policy and Procedures and comply with these at all times.
FACILITY
Ensure that the dispensary is clean, uncluttered and well-organized at all times.
Facility décor will always reflect the Tower Cannabis brand.
Assist with opening/closing of store as per outlined procedures.
Utilize down-time in the store to clean and organize. The store manager will have a list of tasks that can be completed when the store isn’t busy.
STAKEHOLDER RELATIONS
Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders – reps, AGLC, vendors, customers and the community
Represent Tower Cannabis professionally in all exchanges.
TEAMWORK
Work to meet and exceed team sales goals.
Be an enthusiastic team member and support store initiatives and contribute ideas.
Perform other tasks as assigned.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00-$18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10-25 per week
The Tower Cannabis - Country Hills store hours are 10:00 am to 10:00 pm seven days a week and the Carrington store hours are 9:00 am to midnight. We are looking for someone with flexibility within those hours.
