Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role is vital in ensuring smooth daily operations and a positive patient experience. Candidates with prior dental office experience, familiarity with electronic medical records, and strong office skills are encouraged to apply. A background in medical terminology and proficiency with dental management software such as Open Dental or Dentrix is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, creating a welcoming environment
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and confirm patient visits
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical records systems like Open Dental
- Verify insurance information and assist with billing procedures
- Collect payments and explain financial policies to patients
- Coordinate appointment scheduling and rescheduling to optimize daily workflow
- Ensure the front desk area remains organized, tidy, and welcoming at all times
- Assist with patient check-in/check-out processes efficiently and professionally
Skills
- Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar dental or medical office role
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, electronic medical records, and office procedures
- Proficiency with dental management software such as Open Dental or similar platforms
- Excellent communication skills, including experience managing multi-line phone systems
- Ability to handle administrative tasks accurately while maintaining a friendly demeanor
- Familiarity with insurance verification, billing procedures, and payment collection processes
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and scheduling
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while providing outstanding customer service
Pay: $19.41-$32.05 per hour
