About the role:
The Analyst, Asset Management, will support operating teams in a collaborative effort to maximize asset values and investment returns. This role will provide analytical support to the asset management team, including accurate and consistent reporting while also engaging with internal business groups on various asset management initiatives across office, retail, industrial and multi-residential asset classes.
Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports on operational and development activities. This will mean synthesizing various data and working with regional office teams to gather, verify and summarize property and market-level activity/trends/statistics.
Maintain cash flow and Argus valuation models for various purposes, such as setting budgets, analyzing lease transactions, capital expenditures, etc.
Play a primary role in periodic appraisal process. This includes liaison with external appraisers, assembling and providing pertinent information, review of draft appraisal documents and valuation models, and preparation of summaries.
Assist the team in preparing and reviewing annual plans and budgets, including client presentations.
Prepare analyses (financial analysis, market analysis, etc.) for use in significant property initiatives for approval by owners.
Provide support on transactions involving assets for sale or acquisition.
Maintain close contact with brokers for the purpose of coordinating and analyzing market trends and transaction data.
Attend company or industry meetings to expand knowledge, expertise, and network in the real estate sector.
What you bring:
University degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or related field.
1-2 years of experience in financial analysis, real estate or related field.
Strong financial modeling skills and a solid understanding of finance concepts and terminology.
Attention to detail is critical for success in this role.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with ARGUS Enterprise and Yardi is considered an asset.
Financial aptitude to understand financial/cashflow statements and manipulate assumptions in financial models to generate analytical outputs (returns analyses, sensitivity analyses, breakeven analyses etc.
Willingness to learn and collaborate directly with Investments, Leasing, Property Management, Finance, Legal and Accounting teams.
Strong interpersonal skills with an outstanding level of integrity to gain the trust and respect of internal and external stakeholders
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work on tight timelines.
A strong communicator who can effectively communicate complex issues into clear and actionable recommendations in a clear and concise writing style.
Have a flexible attitude towards completing a variety of tasks and be a humble collaborator in a small team setting.

Approximate Salary Range for Role: $80,000 to $87,000 CAD.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
