About the Position
We are seeking motivated and hardworking individuals to join our silviculture brushing crew for a contract in Port Alberni. This is physically demanding outdoor work focused on vegetation management around young forest plantations. Successful candidates will work in remote forestry environments and be expected to maintain high productivity while meeting quality standards.
This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and being part of a team that helps establish healthy future forests.
Responsibilities
- Conduct manual brushing and vegetation management using a chainsaw.
- Remove competing vegetation around crop trees according to block specifications.
- Maintain quality standards and production targets.
- Follow all company safety procedures and WorkSafeBC requirements.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance.
- Work safely in varying terrain, weather conditions, and remote locations.
Requirements
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Ability to work long days in physically demanding outdoor conditions.
- Reliable transportation to designated meeting locations.
- Ability to hike and carry equipment through rough terrain.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Previous brushing, tree planting, forestry, or landscaping labour experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Occupational First Aid certification.
Schedule
- Temporary Full-time
- Typically Monday to Friday.
- Overtime opportunities may be available depending on project requirements.
Compensation
- Piece rate
Pay: $200.00-$350.00 per day
