Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring to ensure timely meal production
- Assist with menu planning by organizing ingredients and prepping components for daily specials or standard dishes
- Support cooking activities by following recipes and instructions from chefs or kitchen supervisors
- Handle food safely by adhering to proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts to meet health standards
- Support food service operations by plating dishes, portioning ingredients, and ensuring presentation quality
- Participate in catering events by preparing large quantities of menu items in accordance with event specifications
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient meal preparation and timely service delivery
Requirements
- Prior experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable
- Proven background in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant kitchen environments
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various culinary techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food industry best practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Basic understanding of catering services and serving protocols is a plus
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
