About the Role
The Feasibility Specialist is responsible for analyzing customer data, 2D/3D designs, and technical specifications to support the Sales and Estimating Team in quoting and manufacturing injection molds. This role ensures feasibility, cost accuracy, and alignment with tooling best practices while supporting customer requirements and internal processes.
Key Responsibilities
Feasibility & Design Support
- Conduct feasibility studies including actions, travel paths, parting lines, runoffs, and steel sizing.
- Develop design-for-manufacturing (DFM) feasibility solutions.
- Create detailed feasibility concepts to support quoting and production.
- Apply knowledge of structural foam, gas assist, multi-shot, thermoset, and compression mold designs.
- Validate and support estimating team recommendations.
- Provide tooling recommendations back to the estimating team
- Identify and resolve discrepancies through data analysis and customer communication.
Customer & Sales Support
- Develop PowerPoint presentations using customer part data.
- Review and ensure compliance with all customer design specifications.
Data Management & Reporting
- Verify customer data aligns with tooling best practices.
- Provide proper lineups for Global Teams in Advanced Feasibility
- Maintain technical knowledge through training, publications, and team collaboration.
Health & Safety
- Comply with all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
General Duties
- Contribute to team objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as required
Education & Experience
- Experience in injection mold design or feasibility required.
- Strong understanding of injection molded plastics technology.
- Knowledge in compression and/or low pressure injection is an asset
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Unigraphics (Siemens NX).
- Strong computer and data analysis skills.
- Microsoft Suite
