We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Strata Caretaker / Building Supervisor. This position combines hands-on caretaking of a beautiful strata complex in Bear Mountain with supervisory responsibilities at several nearby buildings.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, has experience as a commercial cleaner and is ready to take the next step of responsibility and is comfortable coordinating with trades and contractors.
Primary Responsibilities (On Site at Building: 4 days per week, 6 hours per day)
- Vacuum common hallways, lobbies and amenity areas
- Mop hard surface floors
- Clean and polish stainless steel surfaces
- Clean glass doors and other high-touch areas
- Maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of common areas
- Perform routine building inspections
- Report maintenance concerns and building deficiencies
- Install and remove elevator protective pads for resident moves
- Coordinate access for contractors and trades
- Monitor supplies and communicate building needs
Building Supervision (Approximately 4 hours/week)
- Visit additional buildings within our portfolio in the Langford area.
- Conduct quality inspections
- Support and assist cleaning staff
- Communicate with management regarding building conditions
- Help coordinate scheduling, coverage and building priorities
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who:
- Is dependable and punctual
- Has excellent attention to detail and experience cleaning commercially with high standards
- Is organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities
- Works well independently
- Communicates professionally with residents, contractors and property managers
- Is physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs, bend, and stand for extended periods
Requirements
- Valid BC Driver's Licence
- Reliable personal vehicle (required)
- Clean criminal record
- Previous janitorial, caretaker, building maintenance or supervisory experience is an asset
Compensation & Benefits
- Approximately 28 hours per week (Monday-Thursday)
- Estimated monthly compensation: $3,620/month (including vehicle allowance)
- Caretaking responsibilities at Bear Mountain
- Building supervision responsibilities for additional properties
- $100/month vehicle allowance
