The Production Programmer for Triumph Industrial Process works in a fast-paced environment and is responsible for programming all work relating to a Hypertherm Plasma Table and Calypso Waterjet while overseeing daily operations in our Processing division. Their priority is to ensure all projects are programmed efficiently, completed on time and to the highest standards possible. The Production Programmer must be able to communicate effectively with employees, customer and vendors.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare all work orders for production, using SolidWorks and ProNest to complete program files for Processing team.
- Collaborate with the Sales team, Lead Shift Hand and Machine Shop Manager on job scheduling & priority.
- Liaise with Procurement and Yard/Equipment Lead to guarantee on hand supplies of materials, parts and safety supplies.
- Inspect processed parts to ensure quality product is consistently produced.
- Co-ordinate & supervise operators and labourer/helpers, monitors job progress ensuring adherence to safety procedures and correct use of equipment.
- Assist in the hiring and training of operators, including the mentoring of apprentices.
- Perform and conduct processing duties as specified by procedures, blueprints, work orders or oral instructions.
- Conduct basic equipment maintenance and report any abnormalities on equipment operation to facilitate servicing.
- Ensure daily housekeeping is completed and shop cleanliness is maintained to highest level.
- Support frequent meeting rhythm; responsible for running daily toolbox meetings & participation/attendance at production & safety meetings.
Skills & Required Experience
- Must have 3 years experience using CAD software ProNest & SolidWorks
- Experience using MasterCAM considered an asset.
- Experience using CNC Plasma and waterjet equipment considered an asset.
- Able to read and correctly interpret blueprints to be able to produce parts.
- Exceptional ability to read & understand written plans, follow verbal instructions & provide direction.
- Valid Forklift and Loader, Overhead Crane & First Aid certification.
