Our client, a leading engineering and manufacturing organization that specializes in custom metal enclosures is looking to hire Welder/ Fabricator on a permanent basis. These positions are located in Mississauga and offer growth opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret drawings to select pre-cut metal plate and sheet parts.
- Operate a saw and cut bars, tubes, etc. to specific lengths and angles per drawings.
- Take prepared metal components and fit together per drawings.
- Set up and operate welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using various welding techniques, to complete the project.
- Operate manual MIG & TIG & SMAW welding machines
- Finish welds (e.g. grinding, cleaning).
- Inspect product to ensure it is structurally sound and adheres to quality standards.
- Communicate any machine or production problem that may affect the desired output to the Production Manager.
- Willing to take part in additional shop activities such as component fabrication and assembly
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior work experience in the trade
- Experience with MIG, TIG or SMAW welding
- Experience with sheet metal welding & fabrication
- Experience with structural steel welding and fabrication
- Experience with Stainless Steel
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and reference manuals
- Strong mathematical skills
- Detail-oriented, good communication and mechanically inclined
- Must have own welding helmet and safety shoes. Understands and follows safety regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machine issues
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
