This role is offers a hybrid model with 2-3 days in office/week.
Position Scope:
The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager owns budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and KPI frameworks, and provides forward-looking financial insights to support the Executive team and the Board. The role connects strategic and operational plans to financial outcome, partners closely with corporate reporting and accounting, and supports banking, investment and capital planning decisions.
Responsibilities:
PLANNING, BUDGETING AND FORECASTING (35%)
- Lead the annual budget and multi-year corporate planning process, partnering with business leaders to translate strategy into financial targets and resource plans
- Manage monthly and quarterly forecast cycles, including analysis of risks and opportunities relative to budget, prior forecast and prior year
- Build and maintain integrated financial models (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) to support scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis and strategic planning
MANAGEMENT AND BOARD REPORTING (20%)
- Prepare monthly management reporting packages, including KPIs, dashboards, variance analysis and executive commentary
- Support preparation of finance content for board and committee meetings, including performance summaries, outlook, and key financial metrics
- Ensure alignment between management reporting and statutory reporting by working closely with the Director, Corporate Reporting and Consolidation and the accounting team
FINANCIAL ANALYSIS AND BUSINESS PARTNERING (20%)
- Conduct in-depth analysis of revenue, margin, operating expenses, capital spend and working capital, highlighting trends, risks, opportunities and recommended actions
- Partner with business leaders to evaluate business cases, investments, pricing decisions, cost-savings initiatives, and other strategic projects
- Support banking, treasury and corporate finance activities (e.g., covenant modelling, lender reporting inputs, liquidity analysis, capital structure and funding scenarios)
PROCESS, SYSTEMS AND KPIs (15%)
- Design, refine and monitor KPIs aligned with the corporate plan and strategic objectives, maintain and improve KPI dashboards and scorecards
- Enhance FP&A processes, templates and tools to improve efficiency, automation, and the timeliness and accuracy of reporting
- Champion data quality, consistent definitions and strong collaboration between FP&A, accounting, reporting, and operations
ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE (10%)
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and consolidation processes across all legal entities
- Assist in the preparation of the annual financial statements and management reporting, including MD&A
- Support interim and year-end audit processes, including coordination of audit plans and deliverables
- Contribute to internal audit activities and internal control processes, providing input as required
- Provide ongoing support to the Director, Corporate Reporting and Consolidation on ad hoc initiatives
Qualifications and Experience:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in business, finance or accounting required
- Professional accounting designation required (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA)
- Five (5) to eight (8) years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance or related analytical roles required
- A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience required in leading budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and variance analysis in a mid- to large-scale organization
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, IFRS and financial statements, experience working closely with financial reporting and controllership teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong financial modelling skills and advanced Excel proficiency
- Knowledge of JD Edwards and Hubble reporting systems and software, an asset
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
