We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Full-Time Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our growing team.
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medical Office Assistant to join our growing healthcare team! The ideal candidate will be an IMG, have experience in a primary care setting and be willing to fulfill a hybrid role that includes writing report summaries, monitoring physician inboxes as well as MOA duties (answering phones, booking appointments). Availability to work evening 12-8pm shifts 2x times per week is a must.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Summarizing patient medical reports for physicians
- Support in monitoring and managing physician inboxes
- Using a variety of software, most notably PS suites and Ocean Cognisant MD
- Managing clinic intake and regularly interacting with patients
- Receiving incoming calls, answering routine inquiries and triaging ailments for urgency
- Receiving & organizing medical documents to appropriate charts
- Managing appointment bookings and scheduling changes
Potential for role expansion into more clinical duties that may include:
- Rooming patients & taking vitals
- Administering vaccinations
- Conducting minor procedures i.e. wart removal, wound care
- Sterilization of instruments after physician procedures using autoclave
- Assisting physicians/specialists in minor procedures
- Working in a multidisciplinary team with family physicians and specialists to optimize patient health and care
Qualification and Skills
- This position is suited for International Medical Graduates (IMG's)
- Experience in primary care
- Strong language and communication skills
- Ability to summarize reports
- Customer Service Skills
- Available for 12-8pm shifts on after-hour clinic days (2x per week)
- Values team-work and equally effective working independently
- Self-Directed, ability to work with little oversight
- Empathic and passionate about supporting and providing care to patients
- Reception experience (bonus)
- Knowledge of Practice Solutions EMR (bonus)
Salary will be based on applicant qualifications and experience.
