Primary Early Childhood Educator
Working 18.75 hours per week

Medicine Hat Public School Division is taking applications for a Primary Early Childhood Educator (ECE) for our Licensed Play & Learn program. Primary ECE is a 3.75 hour position. This is a ten-month position that includes competitive compensation.
The role of the Primary Early Childhood Educator will be to plan and provide programming opportunities for kindergarten aged children in the Play & Learn program. You will be responsible to plan and deliver programming supporting the development of early literacy, early numeracy, motor skills and social emotional growth of children participating in a French Immersion Play & Learn during the 2026-2027 school year. Successful candidates will remain in the position ongoing if enrollment supports. This position beings on August 26, 2026.
Qualifications

Level 2 or Level 3 Alberta Early Childhood Educator Certification

Bilingual (English/French)

Current Intermediate First Aid/CPR.
- Criminal record check with vulnerable sector check less than three months old will be required prior to employment.

The ability to provide programming to support learning through play with Flight: Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework as a guiding document.
- Demonstrated a commitment to work collaboratively with teachers, educational assistants and administration to support student success.

Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable in order to carry out effective programming for children and provide leadership for the Play & Learn team.
- Interpersonal skills that result in building positive relationships through effective communication.

An understanding of child development and experience working with children with diverse needs.
- Ability to understand and follow ISP's and behavior support plans.

Experience with and understanding of the Alberta Early Learning and Childcare Act and Regulations.
