Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated French Teacher to join our team. As a French Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a stimulating learning environment where students can develop their language skills and cultural understanding. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is enthusiastic about teaching French and making a positive impact on students' lives.
Job type: permanent, part-time, or contract-based
Location: You will work on either or all of our campuses:
- UBC campus (near Norma Rose Elementary School and UHill elemElementary School)
- South Surrey campus
Hours: flexible, 2-15 hours/week.
- 3 - 5 pm, Monday to Friday (UBC campus)
Start date: Sept 2026.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the individual needs of students
- Teach fun, interactive French lessons to groups of students from Kindergarten to Grade 6.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Communicate regularly with program staff and parents regarding student participation and progress.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, French, or a related field.
- Previous experience teaching or tutoring French to children.
- Familiarity with the BC Core French Curriculum and The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
- Experience teaching French at the elementary level is preferred
- First Aid Certification and ECEA Certification are assets.
- A clear criminal record check is required upon hiring.
