The Research & Development (R&D) Coordinator supports the planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting of research trials and innovation projects. This role supports growers, researchers, suppliers, and internal teams to coordinate trial activities, collect and analyze data, maintain accurate records, and ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, reliable, and passionate about agricultural and horticultural innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support daily activities related to R&D trials and innovation projects
- Assist with the setup, maintenance, monitoring, and evaluation of greenhouse and indoor crop trials
- Collect, record, organize, and summarize trial data and observations accurately and consistently as per instructions.
- Maintain detailed records, trial protocols, photos, and reports to support data analysis and project tracking
- Prepare trial materials, labels, supplies, and growing areas as assigned
- Assist with produce organization, harvesting activities and inventory management of trial materials
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of trial areas, equipment, and workspaces
- Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and biosecurity protocols
- Collaborate with R&D, production, operations, and technical teams to support innovation initiatives and trial success
- Assist with meetings, tours, demonstrations, and presentations as required
- Support the team in all areas as needed and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment
- Perform additional operational and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous greenhouse, agriculture, horticulture, farm, or research experience is considered an asset
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and record keeping
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible, adaptable, and willing to assist in various areas as needed
- Ability to perform physical tasks in a greenhouse environment, including lifting, standing, and repetitive work
- Strong willingness to learn and grow within a research and development environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience with greenhouse production or crop management
- Familiarity with data collection, reporting, and trial evaluations

Working Conditions
- Combination of office, greenhouse, and data collection lab environments
- May require occasional lifting and extended standing
- Ability to work in varying greenhouse and environmental conditions, including warm temperatures
