As a Brick Mason, you will play a crucial role in constructing and restoring masonry works and repairs. This hands-on position requires proficiency in working with both hand tools and power tools. Responsibilities:
- Lay bricks, stones, or other materials to restore chimneys, fireplaces, and occasionally other structures.
- Mix mortar according to specifications.
- Assist with the installation of various masonry materials, including natural and manufactured stone, brick and block.
- Prepare surfaces for stone installation, including layout and cutting of masonry.
- Perform masonry work according to project specifications and quality standards
- Use hand tools such as trowels, levels, and hammers to shape and align bricks or stones.
- Execute restoration projects on historic buildings and monuments, ensuring adherence to conservation principles and standards.
- Perform skilled stone masonry work including cutting, shaping, carving, and laying stones using traditional techniques.
- Apply weatherproofing materials.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Brick Mason or similar role.
- Proficiency in masonry techniques and practices.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively and safely.
- Ability to work with precision and attention to detail to achieve high-quality craftsmanship
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in repointing and bricklaying.
- Physical stamina to work in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
