As a team leader, you will be involved in all aspects of unit activities in the provision of nursing care to the resident. The Nurse actively participates in the nursing process to meet the specific needs of residents as individuals ensuring current gerontological practice. he Nurse practices within the scope of the Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics as defined by the Nova Scotia College of Nurses.

Responsibilities:
- Carries out daily responsibilities following best practice standards and job performance requirements within the scope of practice of the NSCN
- Participates in the implementation of organizational goals
- Complete all documentation and charting on residents’ files, incident reports etc. as applicable, and access any required resident information in Point Click Care.
- Administer medications according to physician orders. Document appropriately (PCC)
- Maintain confidentiality concerning residents, employees, organizational data and information.
- Cooperates with fellow employees and Management to promote a positive atmosphere for residents, their families, coworkers and visitors
- Communicate and work with family members and other health care providers to develop a care plan when additional care is needed.
- Respond immediately to emergency situations involving residents, staff, or visitors
- Supervise other staff while on duty when required.
- Provide report at end of shift
Qualifications:
- Current registration with the NSCN
- Standard First Aid, CPR and Phlebotomy (required)
- Strong English communication skills
- Bachelor of Nursing is an asset
- Experience in a geriatric setting is an asset
- Previous experience in Long Term Care an asset
Licence/Certification:
- CPR/First Aid Certification (required)
- LPN/RPN in Nova Scotia (required)
