Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Skid Steer Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment in various construction environments, ensuring efficient and safe operation of machinery. This role requires a strong understanding of construction site protocols, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team. The Skid Steer Operator will play a vital role in completing projects on time and to high standards, utilizing their expertise with equipment such as loaders, excavators, dozers, and graders.
Duties
- Operate skid steers and other heavy machinery including loaders, excavators, dozers, graders, and backhoes to perform tasks such as grading, excavation, material handling, and paving.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Assist with site preparation, grading, trenching, and material movement according to project specifications.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment for all team members.
- Collaborate with other construction personnel to coordinate tasks efficiently.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and communicate maintenance needs.
- Support additional construction activities such as horizontal drilling or paving as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience operating skid steers in a construction setting.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, excavators, graders, backhoes, and pavers.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems related to heavy machinery for troubleshooting purposes.
- Experience with commercial driving is a plus for transporting equipment or materials between sites.
- Prior involvement in construction projects involving horizontal drilling or paving is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites. Pay: $17.66-$38.94 per hour
