The Lead Hand directs and supports Technicians to ensure efficient, quality work on equipment while building long-term customer relationships and producing profits for the company. Will also perform Technician’s work including diagnostics, repair, paperwork, and ensures shop cleanliness & safety.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- 5+ years’ experience in heavy duty truck and trailer mechanics
- Journeyman designation is preferred(we need to exclude as this does not apply in Quebec)
- Previous supervision experience preferred
- Valid Class 1 with Air Driver’s License an asset (for road testing) an asset
- Safety Inspections Certificate an asset
- A team player with a strong commitment to the customer
- Proven leadership skills including motivating, coaching, and training
- Demonstrated quality control skills and attention to detail
- Organized, sets priorities and meets deadlines
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent fact finding and analytical skills
- Basic computer skills and learning ability of programs used internally
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform demanding physical activities
- Familiar with the tools of the trade and equipped with adequate tools
- Reliable means of transportation (there is no public transportation service near the workplace)

- A ‘Tool and Boot’ Allowance of 100% reimbursement to a maximum of $700 per calendar year
- Maxim will pay for 100% of eligible course and book expenses to a maximum of $1000 per level of Apprenticeship Training
