Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our small dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality preventive dental care, educating patients on oral health, and supporting the overall patient experience. This role requires a professional who is detail-oriented, personable, and committed to promoting optimal dental health in a friendly manner. This position is part time, 3 days a week with potential for full time hours in the future. Working days, and commision based pay can also be negotiated!
Duties
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride application
- Take dental radiographs as needed
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies
- Maintain accurate patient records using Abledent
- Support pediatric patients with gentle care and effective communication
- Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to maintain a safe clinical environment
- Address patient questions regarding treatment plans and post-treatment care
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth office operations and excellent patient service
Requirements
- Completion of a two to three year college dental hygiene program.
- Active licensing with CDHO
- Experience with Abledent or similar dental office management software preferred
- Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and medical terminology is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about oral health
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
