About the Role
We’re seeking a Plant Superintendent to join our Midland operations team. In this leadership role, you’ll be responsible for the daily oversight and long-term operational strategy of a unionized production facility. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Plant Superintendent plays a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations while delivering high-quality products that meet ADM standards.
This position provides direct leadership to 2–4 supervisors and indirect leadership to approximately 40 hourly colleagues. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong ownership, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset while supporting safety, quality, production, cost management, and colleague development.
What You’ll Do
Lead, support, and actively participate in all safety initiatives and programs
Direct daily plant operations, including safety, food safety and environmental compliance, production, quality, yield, cost optimization, and sustainability
Oversee Elevator Operations, Bulk Flour, and Feed Loadout activities
Provide supervisory relief for department leads during vacation coverage or sanitation/housekeeping assignments
Maintain operational documentation related to production, quality, equipment, and processes
Develop, submit, and oversee capital and expense projects, including budget and timeline management
Prepare for and participate in regulatory, third-party, customer, and company audits
Promote teamwork and collaboration across production, maintenance, and engineering teams
Support positive community relationships and represent the facility as needed
In partnership with the Plant Manager, lead union relations and chair union meetings
Provide coaching, mentoring, training, and performance feedback to support colleague development

Education and Experience
Degree in Engineering, Milling Science, or a related field preferred
OR
Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on production supervisory experience

Ability to meet physical demands including climbing stairs, prolonged standing and sitting, working in confined spaces and at heights, bending, kneeling, and computer work
Willingness to work adjusted hours as required
Regular, reliable attendance is required
Willingness to travel and/or relocate to other ADM facilities
Commitment to ADM’s Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards
