Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the construction process by accurately assessing project costs, preparing estimates, and contributing to the overall project management. This position requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of construction estimating, and the ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and subcontractors.
Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate project pricing and timelines.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices for materials and services.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects.
- Monitor project progress and adjust estimates as necessary based on changes in scope or unforeseen circumstances.
- Assist in the preparation of bid documents and presentations for potential clients.
Skills
- Proficiency in construction estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam is highly desirable.
- Strong negotiation skills to effectively manage vendor relationships and secure favorable terms.
- Excellent project management abilities to oversee multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost assessments.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, clients, and subcontractors.
