Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Gas Station Attendant to provide excellent customer service and ensure smooth operation of our station. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting customers with fueling, cashiering, and maintaining the cleanliness of the station. This role requires strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and a focus on safety and efficiency. Bilingual skills and experience in retail sales or merchandising are a plus, enabling effective interaction with diverse customers. The Gas Station Attendant plays a vital role in creating a positive experience for all patrons while maintaining operational standards.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with fueling vehicles efficiently and safely
- Operate POS systems for cash handling, credit card transactions, and receipts
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, upselling products, and offering assistance
- Conduct product demos or promote store merchandise when applicable
- Maintain cleanliness of the station, including pumps, convenience store area, and surrounding grounds
- Manage inventory levels of convenience store items and restock shelves as needed
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all operations to prevent accidents or hazards
- Handle cash register operations accurately, including balancing cash drawers at shift end
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth station operations
- Uphold phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or online inquiries
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customers
- Previous experience in retail sales, merchandising, or cashiering is preferred but not required
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Excellent customer service orientation with friendly interpersonal skills
- Good time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of technology sales or product demos is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to maintain professionalism with phone etiquette when interacting remotely or via inquiries
