Roles
Sewer Flushing – A process of cleaning sewer pipes using high-pressure water streams to remove debris, sediment, and other build-ups clogging the pipes.
Hydro Excavation – Combines high-pressure water and an air vacuum system to cut through soil and break it up. The vacuum then removes the slurry to safely locate and minimize ground disturbance of communication, electrical, water, storm, sewer, and gas lines.
Pipe Patching and Relining – A trenchless rehabilitation method used to repair existing pipelines. This involves inserting a resin-saturated felt tube into the damaged pipe, which is then inflated and cured to form a seamless, corrosion-resistant pipe within the original.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and management in a fast-paced environment
- Follow all provincial Worker Health & Safety Standards under the applicable Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Operate vehicles requiring a Class 3 License (1-ton pickup with or without trailer, flusher, CCTV truck, Vactor, combo unit, and hydro-vac), including pre-trip inspections and driver logs
- Pull flusher nozzles from manholes
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment for multiple job sites per day
- Perform a variety of tasks requiring dexterous use of hands and tools
- Operate tools and equipment including picks, shovels, power tools, saws, and drills
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free job site
- Safely operate hydrovac truck and equipment for non-destructive excavation
- Perform daylighting, slot trenching, potholing, piling hole excavation, tank clean-outs, and other hydrovac tasks
- Monitor job site conditions and make real-time adjustments to ensure safe and effective excavation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Class 1 or 3 driver’s license with a clean abstract
- Construction and/or underground infrastructure experience is an asset
- Ability to travel for short periods and work additional hours as needed
Pay rate will vary based on experience and licensing.
