Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and General Construction Laborer to join our construction team. This role involves supporting various phases of construction projects, from site preparation to finishing touches. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and familiarity with a variety of construction techniques and tools. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills across multiple trades within the construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Assist with site preparation, daily setup and organization
- Support carpentry tasks such as framing, cabinet installation, and drywall setup
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Apply caulking, painting, and restoration techniques to ensure quality finishes
- Help with flooring installation, tile laying, and other surface work
- Support demolition and clean-up activities to maintain a safe work environment
- Follow safety protocols at all times and report any hazards or issues to supervisors
Requirements
- G LICENSE AND OWN TRANSPORTATION IS REQUIRED. DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A VEHICLE AND DRIVERS LICENSE. JOB SITES ARE BETWEEN NAPANEE AND GANANOQUE.
- Prior experience or knowledge in construction trades such as carpentry, masonry, welding, or electrical work is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction plans is a plus
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, is desirable
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
- Excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude towards learning new skills
- For non native English speakers - you need very good English skills in order to understand nuanced instructions and details.
