This position is based out of our Cambridge, ON office with travel for client visits and industry events expected.
Who We Are
Pinnacle Logistics Solutions (PLS) is a specialized transportation and logistics company located in Cambridge, Ontario.
Our company's strong values and commitment to corporate social responsibility guarantee that creative & safe cost-cutting solutions are provided to each customer to meet project goals. We specialize in oversized cargo for large multiyear projects, managing the entire transportation and logistics cycles — and we're now growing our commodity freight book alongside it.
The Role
We're looking for a Sales Executive to grow our commodity freight business. This is a hunter role for a seasoned seller who already has the relationships, the instincts, and the kind of self-direction that doesn't need a territory drawn for them to know where to go.
You'll bring an established book of business and continue to build on it — focused on day-to-day freight movements that compliments the large project-based work our VP of Sales oversees. You'll work alongside the sales team with a dotted-line relationship while reporting into Senior Leadership.
What You'll Do
- Grow Your Book: Bring and expand an existing book of commodity freight business, identifying new shippers and developing accounts that fit the PLS service profile
- Pipeline Development: Run your own outreach pipeline (cold calls, warm intros, networking, referrals) building relationships that turn into long-term lanes and repeat freight
- Own the Customer Relationship: Be the primary point of contact for your accounts from first conversation through to onboarding and beyond, working closely with our operations team to ensure delivery promises become delivery realities
- Quote & Close: Prepare quotes, negotiate rates, and structure deals that work for both the customer and PLS with the commercial judgment to know which freight is worth chasing
- Industry Presence: Represent PLS at conferences, trade events, and industry functions keeping a finger on the pulse of where the market is moving and making sure our name is in the room
- Internal Collaboration: Partner with the VP of Sales on accounts that straddle commodity and project work, and coordinate with our Operations, Pricing, and Carrier Relations teams to keep deals moving
- Reporting & Pipeline Hygiene: Keep your CRM clean and your pipeline current — accurate forecasting matters as much as closed business
What You Offer
- 5+ years of freight, transportation, or logistics sales experience, with a clear track record of growing accounts and hitting number
- An established book of business in commodity freight (LTL, FTL, cross-border, etc.) that you can continue to develop
- Confident written and spoken English; French is an asset but not a requirement
- Experience working a CRM, building quotes, and managing your own forecast. We use ZOHO CRM along with a myriad of tools within Microsoft 365 Suite; Knowledge of Canva a strong asset.
- Willingness to travel for client visits, industry events, and the occasional team gathering in Cambridge [ approximately 15%]
What We Offer
- Competitive base + commission structure (details discussed in interview)
- Conference & industry event budget
- Learning & Development Fund
- Comprehensive Health Care coverage including Dental, Vision and Wellness fund
- Travel & client entertainment expenses covered
- Mileage Reimbursement (if applicable)
- 10 days vacation
- A flexible, hard-working environment with a team that cares about each other & their work
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Company events
- Dental care
- Extended health care
- Life insurance
- Paid time off
