ABOUT FIBERGLASS NORTH
Fiberglass North in Yellowknife, NWT is seeking two reliable and motivated Chop Gun Operators to join our team. We work on fiberglass manufacturing, repair, and spray and pour foam application projects in a fast-paced and hands-on environment.
This position is ideal for individuals experienced with fiberglass systems and spray-up applications who take pride in quality workmanship, safety, and professionalism.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Chop Gun Operator is responsible for operating fiberglass chop spray equipment and assisting with fiberglass lay-up, finishing, mold preparation, and related production tasks.
Successful candidates will be comfortable working in an industrial environment and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Operate chop gun spray equipment safely and efficiently
· Prepare molds and surfaces for fiberglass application
· Apply fiberglass resin and chopped strand materials
· Perform rolling, trimming, sanding, and finishing tasks as required
· Monitor material consistency and spray quality
· Maintain tools and equipment in proper working order
· Follow workplace safety procedures and PPE requirements
· Assist with general shop and production duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications:
· Previous chop gun or fiberglass spray-up experience
· Experience in industrial manufacturing, marine, automotive, or composite environments
· Familiarity with resins, catalysts, gel coat, spray and pour foam and fiberglass materials
· Valid driver’s license
Additional Assets:
· Forklift certification
· Fall protection or confined space training
· Experience working in northern or remote environments
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to lift heavy materials regularly
· Ability to stand for extended periods
· Comfortable working with PPE and respirators
· Ability to work in physically demanding industrial conditions
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$67,200 - $76,800
Hourly Wage: Negotiable, based on experience
Overtime Eligibility: Optional when available
Benefits Package: Life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment, short- and long-term disability.

Vacation Entitlement: Standard 4% holiday pay accrued or pay out each cheque
