We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing Geotechnical group. This role is ideal for a professional with strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a solid understanding of subsurface conditions in southern Ontario and regulatory requirements.
You will play a key role in delivering geotechnical investigations and construction support for a wide range of projects including residential and commercial developments, high-rise developments, and municipal infrastructure projects.
In addition to project delivery, you will assist in continuing to build and grow the geotechnical group, contributing to team expansion, technical capability development, and long-term strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage geotechnical investigations, including drilling, sampling, and field testing programs
- Interpret subsurface conditions and prepare geotechnical reports with design recommendations
- Provide expertise in foundation design, slope stability, earthworks, retaining structures, and pavement design
- Manage projects, including scope, schedule, budgets, and client communication
- Provide construction-phase services including site inspections and problem-solving
- Mentor and develop junior geotechnical staff
- Assist in building and expanding the geotechnical group, including supporting recruitment, training, and technical development initiatives
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- Support proposal writing and business development initiatives
Qualifications & Requirements
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario (mandatory)
- Minimum 8+ years of geotechnical engineering experience, preferably in Southern Ontario
- Proven experience in residential, commercial, high-rise, and municipal projects
- Strong knowledge of local soil and groundwater conditions across the GTA, Hamilton, and Niagara regions
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Experience mentoring geotechnical staff
- Experience working within a consulting engineering environment is an asset
- Familiarity with Ontario standards and guidelines (e.g., OBC, MTO, local municipal requirements)
- Experience with geotechnical software (e.g., slope stability, settlement, and foundation analysis tools)
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites

Pay: $100,000.00-$175,000.00 per year
