Overview
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on, and responsible Site Supervisor / Skilled Worker to oversee onsite construction activities. This role focuses on planning and coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and third-party consultants throughout the construction and deficiency process, while actively participating in hands-on tasks on-site.
The ideal candidate bridges the gap between management and physical labor—maintaining strong communication with the Project Manager and clients while personally assisting with site preparation, light carpentry, and daily maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Scheduling & Coordination: Schedule trades and deliveries, coordinating the sequence of work to align with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Blueprint & Drawing Review: Read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and structural plans to ensure onsite work is executed accurately.
- Trade & Contract Oversight: Maintain a full understanding of trade scopes of work, site scheduling, cost control, and quality control.
- Safety Enforcement: Enforce site safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with company health and safety policies, OHSA, and MOL guidelines.
- Progress Tracking & Documentation: Complete the Daily Log documenting site conditions, deliveries, trade count, and progress. Take site photographs regularly.
- Communication: Communicate clearly and professionally in English, verbally and in writing, to effectively coordinate with diverse trades, clients, and management.
Expanded Hands-On & Skilled Labor Scope
- Carpentry & Framing: Perform small framing, drywall patching, backing, and general light carpentry as needed to keep the project moving forward.
- Material Handling: Receive, inspect, and safely handle/distribute small materials and deliveries across the site. Document and photograph any damaged or missing items.
- Site Prep & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment. This includes performing mandatory daily site cleanups, sweeping, and debris removal after work is completed.
- Deficiency Resolution: Directly address punch-list items and minor deficiencies reported during inspections.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Driver’s License (MUST HAVE): A valid driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle are strictly required for this role (mileage will be compensated).
- Experience: Proven experience in construction site supervision or as a lead hands-on skilled laborer.
- Blueprint Literacy: Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and schematics.
- Construction Knowledge: Solid familiarity with residential/commercial construction methods, building materials, structural components, and sequencing.
- Communication: Excellent, professional verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Physical Demands: Must be physically fit, capable of performing hands-on labor, handling materials, and committing to daily site cleanup.
