Location
This position is required to work in person at the Music Centre. Work location is subject to change at the discretion of the City due to operational demands.
Position Overview
The City of Burlington is accepting applications for Specialized Program Instructor, RCC – Musical Instrument Teacher, specifically for clarinet and saxophone teaching positions for the 2026/2027 Music Lessons session beginning in September. Expectation to instruct from introductory to intermediate level students in multiple genres (e.g., classical, jazz, pop, RCM repertoire and theory exam preparation). Hours of work will vary dependent on program need.
Responsibilities
Specialized Program Instructor, RCC – Musical Instrument Teacher will be responsible for the provision of private clarinet, saxophone, and theory lessons.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have the following qualifications or be in the process of obtaining before first day of employment:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Diploma in Music, or relevant practical experience providing music lessons. This position requires the individual to have confidence, patience, time management, strong communication and organization skills. Professional performance, private teaching, woodwind doubling, and/or marching band experience is an asset.
Police Check Requirement
This position requires the successful candidate to provide a clear criminal record check with a vulnerable sector screening at their own expense.
