Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ foot and ankle conditions, utilizing medical terminology and clinical expertise to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Administer treatments such as wound care, medication management, orthotic fitting, and other podiatric interventions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, to coordinate patient care effectively within hospital or home care settings.
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient visits, treatment progress, and data collection using electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Educate patients and their families on foot health, injury prevention, pain management strategies, and post-treatment care instructions.
- Assist in research initiatives aimed at improving podiatric practices and patient outcomes through data analysis and clinical studies.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards while managing medication administration and other clinical procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in hospital environments with a strong understanding of acute care protocols.
- Prior experience in research or clinical studies related to podiatry or related fields is preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in pain management techniques specific to foot and ankle conditions.
- Experience working with pediatric patients or within home care settings is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, electronic health records (Epic or Cerner), and medical office procedures.
- Ability to perform data collection accurately for quality improvement projects or research purposes.
- Strong patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient needs.
