Overview
We are seeking a skilled Senior Marine Technician to join our team in maintaining and repairing marine vessels and equipment. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a passion for marine technology, hands-on work, and problem-solving. The Marine Technician will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of marine assets through routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting. Candidates should possess strong mechanical knowledge and be comfortable working with various tools in a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on boats, engines, and related marine equipment
- Diagnose mechanical issues using specialized tools and techniques
- Repair or replace faulty components, including engines, electrical systems, and hull structures
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to perform maintenance tasks efficiently and safely
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs performed
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex problems and develop effective solutions
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment at all times
- Assist in the assembly, installation, and testing of new equipment or systems onboard vessels
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose and repair marine systems effectively
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.
- Experience with power tools including drills, grinders, and saws is highly desirable
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams related to marine equipment
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions and handle physical tasks associated with marine maintenance
