Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Shift Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our retail environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of store management. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer service, managing sales activities, and maintaining operational standards to achieve business objectives. Bilingual abilities and prior retail management experience are highly valued to support diverse customer needs and team coordination.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily store activities to ensure smooth operations during assigned shifts
- Lead and motivate team members, providing training, coaching, and development opportunities to enhance performance
- Oversee customer service interactions, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and resolving escalated issues effectively
- Manage merchandising efforts, including product placement, pricing strategies, and promotional displays
- Handle cash register operations, including cashiering duties, cash handling, and POS transactions with accuracy
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with purchasing decisions, and coordinate stock replenishment
- Conduct recruiting activities such as interviewing potential candidates and onboarding new employees
- Prepare schedules for staff coverage in alignment with store needs and labor budgets
- Maintain administrative records including payroll processing, bookkeeping, and sales reports
- Implement marketing initiatives to promote store offerings and increase foot traffic
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and health regulations
Requirements
- Proven supervisory or team management experience within a retail setting or similar environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff effectively
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, merchandising, pricing strategies, and sales management
- Experience in recruiting, interviewing, training & development of staff
- Knowledge of budgeting, bookkeeping, administrative tasks, and basic math skills
- Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining organizational skills
- Strong customer service orientation with professional phone etiquette and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating as part of a team
- Prior store management or retail sales experience preferred; leadership qualities are essential for success in this role
Pay: $15.00-$28.69 per hour
