Arborist Apprentice / Ground Person
Buck’s Tree Service is a fast-growing, locally owned company that proudly serves Spruce Grove and the surrounding communities. We provide high-quality residential and commercial arboricultural services, including tree removals, pruning, stump grinding, planting, disease assessment, and storm-damage response. Buck’s Tree Service maintains a proactive, safety-first environment. All team members are expected to participate in daily tailgate meetings, ongoing training, and equipment inspections. Our team is committed to exceptional workmanship and delivering the highest level of customer service in the industry.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Arborist Apprentice / Experienced Ground Person to join our team for the upcoming season.
Key Responsibilities
Please note: the following outlines common duties, but responsibilities may vary day-to-day.
- Follow all Buck’s Tree Service safety standards, including hazard identification, work-site planning, and implementation of proper safety barriers.
- Complete daily truck logbooks and required safety documentation.
- Safely operate industry-related equipment (chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, hand saws, pruners, etc.).
- Assist with arboricultural tasks such as tree trimming, removals, felling, and work at various heights.
- Perform ground-level support tasks efficiently and safely.
- Maintain strong teamwork, time-management, and organizational skills.
- Communicate politely and professionally with customers, the public, coworkers, and management.
- Work outdoors and perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Genuine interest and passion for the arboriculture industry.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract.
- First Aid Certification is an asset.
- Steel-toed safety boots are required.
- Previous experience in tree care, landscaping, or outdoor labour is an asset but not required—training provided for the right candidate.
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Physically capable of performing strenuous, repetitive tasks.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a cohesive team.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly.
- Comfortable standing, lifting, dragging brush, bending, and operating equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to work at heights (optional, depending on the role).

Schedule
- 8-hour shifts
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime and weekend work as required
Expected Start Date: July 20, 2026
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Pay: $20.00-$28.00 per hour
