We are a growing real estate development and property management company. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Property Accountant fluent in English and Mandarin to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio encompassing residential, commercial real estate, or construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Full-Cycle Property Accounting: Manage or assist in the full accounting cycle for a designated portfolio of residential and commercial properties.
- Month-End Closing: Prepare and post G/L entries, monthly journal entries, and perform bank and mortgage reconciliations to ensure timely month-end closing.
- A/R & A/P Management: Oversee accounts receivable and payable functions; review rent charges, process PAD files, and resolve tenant account discrepancies.
- Tenant Recoveries: Handle monthly utility chargebacks and assist in/prepare annual CAM/TAX recovery reconciliations for commercial tenants.
- Reporting & Budgeting: Prepare monthly and annual property financial reporting packages; assist management in variance analysis and annual operating budgets.
- Year-End Support: Prepare year-end audit working papers and provide supporting documentation for external auditors.
- Cross-Functional Support: Assist with financial tracking or cost-coding related to active construction projects/additions within the portfolio as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 1–3 years of hands-on experience in Property Accounting (Commercial property experience or exposure to Construction/Project accounting is a strong asset).
- Software: Proficiency in Yardi Voyager is required.
- Language: Fluent in English and Mandarin (written and verbal) is required.
- Education & Designation: Degree/Diploma in Accounting or Finance. Enrollment in or progress toward a CPA designation is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel (vlookup, pivot tables) for data analysis and financial reporting.
