Job Title:
Interior Designer / Cabinet Designer
About the Company
UrbanVista Cabinets is a custom cabinetry brand based in the Greater Vancouver area, with over 20 years of industry experience.
We specialize in high-end residential projects, offering fully customized cabinetry solutions for kitchens, walk-in closets, vanities, wine cabinets, and more.
We are currently expanding our design team and are looking for a detail-oriented designer with solid fundamentals and a desire to grow through real project experience. This full-time position is based in our Coquitlam workshop, where we turn drawings into real, finished work.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete design plans and technical drawings based on project manager input and site conditions
- Use software such as Vectorworks, Mozaik, or AutoCAD to produce standard drawings, exploded views, and production documents
- Make timely adjustments and optimizations based on client feedback or on-site revisions
- Coordinate effectively with internal departments (production, installation, admin) to ensure design accuracy
- Maintain consistent naming, version control, and file management of project drawings
- Assist with materials selection, color samples, and other design support tasks
Qualifications
- Educational background or relevant work experience in interior design, cabinet design, or architecture
- Familiarity with at least one drafting software (Vectorworks, Mozaik, AutoCAD, etc.)
- Basic understanding of spatial planning and cabinet construction
- Detail-oriented, logical thinker, clear communicator, and responsible
- This is an on-site position based in Coquitlam; remote work is not available
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Experience in cabinet design, millwork detailing, or home renovation projects
- Familiarity with Canadian building codes or cabinetry standards
What We Offer
- Hourly wage: $18.88 – $30.83, depending on experience
- Stable full-time role (32–40 hours/week) with long-term opportunities
- Free on-site parking
- Employee discount on in-house cabinetry products (for personal home projects)
- Team meals, holiday events, and a friendly, supportive team atmosphere
- On-the-job training and internal development for entry-level candidates
- Real projects, full processes—your designs will be built and installed, not just drawn
How to Apply
Please send your resume to [email protected].
If available, include a portfolio of relevant work (e.g. CAD drawings, cabinetry projects, etc.).
We’re not just looking for someone to "draw what they're told." We’re looking for someone who wants to grow with the project, who cares about details, and who wants to turn designs into something people can actually live in. If you're looking to see your work go from paper to reality—we’d love to hear from you.
