SUMMARY:
Provides routine logistical support services related to uniforms and equipment for Sworn Members. Assists with issuing, exchanging, tracking, and maintaining uniforms and equipment to ensure Sworn Members are appropriately equipped to perform their duties. Supports inventory control activities, maintains storage areas and electronic records, and assists with onboarding and offboarding processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Provides logistical support for uniforms and equipment for Sworn Members by:
a) completing kit issue, exchanges, and returns in accordance with established procedures and protocols,
b) fulfilling routine requests for uniforms, equipment, and related supplies,
c) assisting Members with minor repairs and adjustments to issued kit and clothing,
d) taking basic measurements and assisting with sizing adjustments, including body armour fittings where required,
e) ensuring all held uniform and equipment items are properly tracked, stored, and disposed of in accordance with departmental procedures.
2. Assists with inventory control and storeroom operations by:
a) maintaining basic custodianship of all responsible storage areas and workstations, including completing routine cleaning and minor upkeep activities, such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and minor repairs of shelving, lockers etc.
b) assisting the Purchase & Inventory Coordinator with monitoring inventory levels of uniforms, equipment, and related operational supplies,
c) notifying appropriate personnel when replacement stock or supplies are required,
d) assisting with physical inventory counts, stock-taking activities as assigned,
e) delivering and picking up uniforms and equipment in conjunction with the Purchase & Inventory Coordinator,
f) transporting vehicles to repair centres in conjunction with the Fleet Coordinator as required.
3. Assists with maintaining electronic and administrative records by:
a) updating and maintaining electronic inventory and tracking records using spreadsheets and inventory management systems,
b) maintaining accurate records relating to issued uniforms, equipment, returns, and disposals,
c) conducting basic correspondence through telephone, email, Microsoft Teams, and in-person interactions with internal and external stakeholders, such as Sworn Members and vendor employees.
4. Assists with onboarding and offboarding activities for Sworn Members by:
a) assisting with onboarding processes, including basic orientation of kit and clothing provisions and procedures and initial kit issue appointments for new hires,
b) assisting with offboarding activities, including locker clearing and returning of applicable items to internal departments including IT (phones, laptops), IMS (notebooks and evidence), Facilities (access cards, keys), and Training (weapons and ammunition) etc.
5. Performs related duties as assigned, such being items of a minor nature that do not affect the value of the job.
