We follow industry standards including ASTM, NFCA, TTMAC and ACI to ensure quality results and cost savings for our clients, and our team is committed to delivering accurate assessments and exceptional service to our clients. We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surveying and Materials Testing Technician/Salesperson to join our dynamic team in British Columbia.
Job Description
As a Surveying and Materials Testing Technician/Salesperson at Site Fox Surveying and Testing Ltd, you will play a crucial role in assessing and testing concrete conditions and moisture levels on various construction sites among other duties, as well as initial contact through overseeing of project sales and installations. Your expertise will help ensure compliance with industry standards and contribute to the overall success of our clients' projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough surveying of concrete slabs to assess their condition and integrity prior to installation of flooring materials. Training Provided
- Perform Rh and MVER moisture testing, DCoF and tensile pull tests on concrete slabs and other surfaces using appropriate testing methods and equipment.
- Collect, input, document and analyze data to provide accurate reports on moisture levels and concrete substrate conditions.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and other SiteFox team members to ensure testing aligns with project requirements.
- Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accurate results.
- Document findings and prepare detailed reports for clients, including recommendations for remediation if necessary.
- Stay updated on ASTM standard test methods, NFCA Best practices, TTMAC Best practices and industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to surveying and materials testing.
Qualifications
- Experience in MVER, Rh, Tensile, Flexural, Porosity, Alkalinity, pH, Surveying, DCoF
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in surveying, moisture testing and/or materials testing preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field a bonus but not required
Job Requirements
- Proven experience in concrete surveying and moisture testing an asset
- Familiarity with testing equipment and methodologies for moisture assessment preferred
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Very important
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Very important
- Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team. Very important
- Valid driver's license, car and willingness to travel to various job sites. Critical
- 8-4:30 daily with some occasional night and weekend requirement.
- Gas will be re-imbursed at CRA guidelines.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- CSA approved work boots
- Canadian Citizen (No work permit applications will be accepted)
