Manager / Senior Manager, Public Accounting

Our client is an established CPA firm located in North York, providing personalized accounting, assurance, and tax services to privately held businesses, entrepreneurs, real estate organizations, foundations, and not-for-profit organizations throughout the GTA.
As the firm continues to grow and enters an exciting period of transition, they are seeking a Manager / Senior Manager to join their leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA professional who enjoys hands-on client work, mentoring staff, and taking an active role in the continued growth and success of a growing public accounting practice.

The successful candidate will work closely with the partners and take ownership of a diverse portfolio of client engagements. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a broad public
accounting environment and is looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a growing firm.

Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of privately held clients across various industries
Oversee and complete audit, review engagement, and compilation files
Review financial statements and working paper files prepared under ASPE
Prepare and review corporate, personal, trust, and partnership tax returns
Provide accounting and tax guidance to owner-managed businesses and private clients
Handle complex accounting issues and provide practical recommendations
Plan and execute engagements from planning through completion
Review work performed by junior and intermediate staff and provide coaching and feedback
Mentor and develop team members while supporting their professional growth
Communicate directly with clients, partners, and internal teams regarding engagement status and requirements
Assist with tax planning, special projects, and advisory-related assignments
Qualifications
CPA designation completed
5+ years of progressive public accounting experience
Strong experience with audits, reviews, compilations, and tax engagements
Experience managing client files from planning through completion
Strong knowledge of ASPE and Canadian accounting standards
Experience reviewing financial statements and working papers
Previous experience mentoring or supervising junior staff
Strong communication and client relationship management skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating with partners and team members
