About the Opportunity
Makwa Resourcing is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a Government of Canada Information Management (IM) initiative focused on the decommissioning of legacy repositories and migration of information into a SharePoint-based legacy records environment.
This is a client-facing role that requires strong stakeholder engagement, requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, and information management expertise. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to collect repository information, support scanning and mapping activities, and ensure a smooth transition of legacy content into the target SharePoint environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage directly with business stakeholders to gather information on legacy IM repositories scheduled for decommissioning.
- Conduct interviews, workshops, and discovery sessions to identify and document business requirements.
- Analyze existing repository structures, content types, metadata, permissions, and retention requirements.
- Collaborate with technical teams responsible for repository scanning, content analysis, mapping, and migration activities.
- Document current-state business processes, challenges, and information management practices.
- Define future-state requirements and recommend solutions to support migration and decommissioning objectives.
- Develop business requirements, user stories, process flows, use cases, and supporting documentation.
- Establish and document acceptance criteria for business requirements and migration deliverables.
- Perform root cause analysis and support issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support testing, validation, and user acceptance activities related to migrated content.
- Maintain strong client relationships and provide ongoing communication regarding project status, risks, and recommendations.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience working as a Business Analyst within an IM/IT environment.
- Secret Clearance
- Business Analysis certification or formal Business Analysis training
Pay: $475.00-$500.00 per day
