Canadian International Student Services (CISS) is currently looking for a dedicated and structured ESL teacher to lead the Academic & Career Prep English Course at our international summer camp. This course focuses on preparing students for success in academic and professional environments by strengthening their English language skills in research, writing, and presentation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Planning and delivering engaging and interactive lessons that focus on academic writing, research skills, professional communication, and interview techniques.
- Assessing students' progress through written assignments, oral presentations, and class participation.
- Maintaining accurate class attendance records and providing student reports.
- Fostering an immersive learning environment that encourages confidence in academic and professional communication.
- Supporting students in developing strong resumes, cover letters, and interview responses for future career opportunities.
- Attend staff meetings, as required.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Location:
- Teachers will teach downtown at or near the University of Toronto 's Trinity College Campus.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education and/or TESL certificate recognized by TESL Canada (ie. CELTA)
- Experience teaching academic English, university preparation, or professional communication is preferred.
- Strong understanding of academic writing conventions and professional communication standards.
- Experience in preparing students for TOEFL, IELTS, or other English proficiency exams.
- Ability to motivate and mentor students in their academic and career goals.
- Police Reference Check required
Job Details:
- CISS Curriculum outline and teaching resources are provided
- Pre-Camp training is provided for all teaching staff
- Maximum class size of 15-18 students
- Lesson hours: 09:00-13:15 each Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday
- Teacher receive an additional 2 hours pay each week (over regular teaching hours) to compensate for any meetings or reports that need to be done
- Pay is $28 per hour
