RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability proficiently operate rock trucks, and in a safe and appropriate manner as required
- Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances, identify defects in heavy-duty equipment, communicate any unsafe conditions, incidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction and reporting
- Clean, lubricate and perform other minor maintenance work
- Perform pre-and post-trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safety and roadworthiness
- Accurate completion of work orders and safety documentation
- Adhere to all company and client safe work practices and policies
Qualifications
- Onsite general labourer experience
- 3-5 years experience as a Rock truck operator
- Excellent understanding of equipment safety and work practices
- Knowledge and firm understanding of equipment maintenance and storage
- Previous experience in road construction and maintenance techniques
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed
- Possess a valid drivers license and a clean drivers abstract
