Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is one of the largest school divisions

EIPS is recruiting a temporary, full-time (1.0 FTE) Junior High Math, Foods & Wellness Teacher at SouthPointe School. This teaching assignment includes:

Math - Grade 8 & 9

CTS/F Food - Grade 8 (2 classes)

Wellness - Grade 9
SouthPointe School serves
approximately 720 students in kindergarten to Grade 9, with 33 teaching staff
and 15 support staff. The school is located in Fort Saskatchewan, AB,
approximately 20 kilometres north of Sherwood Park, AB. In collaboration with the
community, Southpointe School, provides a safe, supportive learning environment in which every
student will develop the skills and knowledge to become lifelong learners and
contributing members of society. All students at SouthPointe
are in an environment where they are valued, cared for, respected and treated
as individuals with individual needs, strengths, affinities and areas of
growth.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education degree
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Effective organization and classroom management skills
- Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
- Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
- Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
- First Aid training would be an asset
