Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Grinder/Polisher to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for precision grinding and polishing of metal components, ensuring they meet strict quality standards. Duties
- Operate grinding and polishing equipment to achieve specified surface finishes on metal parts
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate work
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, and CNC programming software
- Perform welding tasks including MIG welding when necessary for component assembly or repair
- Set up and adjust machinery using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and CNC controls
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools to verify dimensions and surface quality
- Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to safety standards
- Assist in assembly processes as needed, ensuring parts meet manufacturing specifications
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying process improvements and reducing waste
Qualifications
- Proven experience in grinding, polishing, or machining within a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, CNC programming, and mechanical assembly processes
- Skilled in operating CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, and other machining tools
- Familiarity with welding techniques such as MIG welding is preferred
- Ability to use calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, and other measurement devices for quality control
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and warehouse experience is a plus
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in machining or manufacturing processes is highly desirable
- Ability to work safely with heavy machinery while maintaining high attention to detail
